The skills covered in this class are perfect if you are a competitor wishing to strengthen your team’s foundation, work on precision and increase focus.
For those new to Rally: Step off on the right foot with this foundation class. This sport of spectacular heeling is great for dogs and handlers ready for something a bit more challenging than the basics – and it’s a whole lot of fun.
In this class you will learn
- Handler skills that will help your dog perform at her best
- How to train precise and fluent foundation behaviors
- How to read APDT Level 1/AKC Novice Rally signs
In this class your dog will learn
- Strong attention and focus
- Formal heeling, including pivots, turns, and changes of pace
- Novice level Rally behaviors and a solid foundation for higher levels

Foundation Rally Obedience is for friendly dogs. If you are not sure if your dog is ready for group class, read Is group class right for my dog?
